Founded by Dr. Lori Ana Valentín, the firm applies an investigative, analytical approach to one of the most persistent challenges in STEM organizations: the gap between technical expertise and management readiness.
Dr. Valentín spent nearly a decade as a forensic scientist at the New York State Police Forensic Investigation Center, where she analyzed controlled substances for criminal cases, testified in court, and contributed to the identification of emerging drugs that informed new controlled substance legislation in New York State. After transitioning out of forensic science, she served as Director of Professional Development at The College of Saint Rose, where she observed a consistent pattern across STEM organizations: high-performing technical contributors were being promoted into leadership without the tools to manage teams, resolve conflict, or communicate across organizational levels.
Radiant Journey LLC was founded to close that gap. Dr. Valentín’s coaching method mirrors the scientific process, assessing individuals across personality, communication style, and information processing, then prescribing management strategies tailored to the individual or group. Her practice is known for the use of what she calls “chemisms,” analogies that translate real-world management experiences into scientific language for technical audiences.

Dr. Valentín holds a doctorate in analytical chemistry from Binghamton University and received leadership training through the NYSP Civilian Leadership School and the American Chemical Society, where she served as 2022 Chair of the Eastern New York section and received the 2020 Outreach Volunteer of the Year Award. She also holds a black belt in martial arts.
Her coaching focuses on succession planning, organizational communication, conflict resolution, workforce development, and performance optimization.
